The Drum Runner Material Handling Company

started in 1992 when Millard Cummins came in contact with a drum mover which
was produced by a small machine shop in
Marion
,
Ohio
. The machine shop was attempting to add weigh capabilities to the newly
designed drum handling equipment with little success. At the time Millard
Cummins was president and C.E.O. of Thurman Scale, a major manufacturer of large
equipment scales, including load cells and scale indicators. When Mr. Cummins
observed the inherent design issues with the marriage between the scale and the
drum handling equipment, a relationship was born, as was Drum Runner Material
Handling Company.
Over the course of the next couple of years
Mr. Cummins grew Drum runner into a driving force in the material handling
industry. Mr. Cummins was a great force in this industry and his daily presence
has been missed. His innovation, his attention to detail, his business sense are
not matched.
Due to health reasons Mr. Cummins began the
process to sell the Drum Runner Material Handling Company in 2001. Mission
Industrial Group LLC, began negotiations to purchase Drum Runner in September
2002. Mission Industrial Group LLC was created as the legal entity behind the
Drum Runner company. Mission Industrial Group LLC began official operation of
Drum Runner on
December 14, 2002 at

. While Drum Runner was primarily
engaged in the manufacture of Material Handling Equipment, Drum Runner has been
involved in designing numerous types of equipment including, material handling
devices, racking systems and other specialty machinery for industry. Mark
H. Snow President, provides engineering for special applications, equipment and
product modifications. Mark Snow has been designing equipment for various
industries for over 25 years.
